Discover more about Lover’s Park

Lover's Park, situated on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan, is a 2.5-hectare haven of tranquility that provides a refreshing escape from the urban bustle. The park's history dates back to the 18th century when it was known as Kozern Park, later renamed Pushkin Park and Barekamutyun (Friendship) Park before finally becoming Lover's Park in 1995. The name reflects its popularity as a meeting place for couples. Between 2005 and 2008, the park underwent a complete renovation led by the Boghossian Foundation, with French designer Pierre Rambach creating a Japanese-inspired landscape. The design incorporates elements of traditional oriental gardens, featuring winding paths, ponds, small waterfalls, and diverse flora. The park is designed to be accessible to everyone, with no steps to ensure easy movement for people with reduced mobility. Lover's Park is not only a place for relaxation but also a cultural hub. It features a 215-seat amphitheater named after Robert Boghossian, hosting art exhibitions, outdoor film screenings, concerts, and festivals. Notable artworks within the park include the statue of Gevorg Emin, a famous Armenian poet, and the "Obsidian Heart" sculpture by Jean-Michel Othoniel. Other sculptures include “Union of Love”, “Armenuhi”, and “The Three Elephants”. The Achajur café in the park offers visitors a place to enjoy refreshments while admiring the tranquil surroundings. Lover's Park is the first and only Japanese-style park in Armenia.
