Discover more about Van Ardi Winery

Van Ardi Winery, located in the Aragatsotn region of Armenia, is a testament to the country's long history of winemaking and its modern wine renaissance. Founded by Varuzhan Mouradian, who left a career in finance in Los Angeles to pursue his passion for wine in his homeland, Van Ardi is a family affair, with each member contributing to the winery's success. The winery's name, "Van Ardi," translates to "Sun of Van," paying homage to the Mouradian family's ancestry from the city of Van in eastern Turkey, an area with a rich winemaking history. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 1,050 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mount Aragats, benefiting from volcanic soils rich in minerals and a microclimate of warm days and cool nights. These conditions contribute to the unique character of Van Ardi's wines. Van Ardi cultivates a variety of grapes, including indigenous Armenian varieties such as Areni, Kakhet, Kangun and Voskehat, as well as Syrah. The winery uses biodynamic practices and minimal intervention winemaking techniques to highlight the pure qualities of these grapes. Visitors can take guided tours of the vineyards and winery, learn about the winemaking process, and taste Van Ardi's exceptional wines. The estate also hosts events such as concerts, movie nights, and harvest festivals. Beyond the wine, Van Ardi offers a culinary experience, with Varuzhan's wife, Anahit, creating food fusions and recipes for wine and food pairings. Van Ardi is more than just a winery; it's a destination for those seeking to immerse themselves in Armenian wine, food, and culture.
