    Discover more about Vardanyans' Park

Vardanyans' Park, officially named Yerevan 2800th Anniversary Park, is a relatively new and captivating addition to Yerevan's urban landscape. Opened in May 2019, the park was gifted to the city by the Mikayel and Karen Vardanyan family to commemorate Yerevan's 2800th anniversary. Situated in the Kentron district at 2 Italy Street, the park provides a serene oasis amidst the bustling city center. Previously, the area was part of the English Park but had fallen into disrepair. The construction of Italy Street in 2002 further isolated the area, leading to its neglect. In 2018, the Vardanyan Family Charity Foundation initiated the park's construction, transforming the derelict space into a modern and attractive recreational area. The park boasts several unique features, including an obelisk adorned with symbols of the Erebuni Fortress and Yerevan, providing visitors with a glimpse into the city's rich history. The park's design incorporates elements of Armenian cultural heritage, with the ground paved in patterns reminiscent of ancient Armenian carpets. A central map of Yerevan, crafted from pink quartzite and surrounded by fountains, highlights the city's layout. The park's fountain complex is a major draw, featuring 2,800 water jets that create a mesmerizing display. These fountains are equipped with advanced technology, including wind sensors that adjust the water flow. Seven bronze statues, specifically created for the park, depict children and symbolize imagination, care, purity, happiness and childhood, reflecting the spirit of Yerevan's younger generation from the 1970s and 1980s. The park also includes a water arch with 30 jets. Vardanyans' Park offers a tranquil environment for relaxation and leisure. Visitors can stroll along the well-maintained pathways, relax on the benches, and enjoy the beautifully landscaped gardens. The park hosts local events and cultural activities, providing opportunities to engage with Yerevan's vibrant community. The park is free to enter and is well-maintained.
