Beth Israel Conservative Synagogue stands as a beacon of cultural and spiritual heritage in Oranjestad, Aruba. The synagogue reflects the history of the Jewish community in Aruba, dating back to the 18th century. In 1754, Moses Solomon Levie Maduro, who came from a prominent Portuguese Jewish family in Curacao, settled in Aruba. Maduro paved the way for more immigrants, but the island's Jewish population has always remained small.Visitors are often struck by the synagogue's architectural style that blends traditional and modern influences, creating a serene atmosphere for contemplation and reflection. The stained glass windows and intricate designs tell stories of faith, resilience, and community. Open to all, the synagogue offers scheduled services and events that allow visitors to engage with local traditions and customs.
