The beach is famous for its wide expanse of pristine, soft white sand that stretches for 1.2 miles (2 kilometers), offering visitors plenty of space to relax and soak up the Caribbean sun. The crystal-clear turquoise waters are ideal for swimming, and the calm conditions make it a perfect spot for families with children. Eagle Beach is also home to Aruba's iconic fofoti trees, with their distinctive silhouette pointing towards the Caribbean Sea, making them a favorite subject for photographers. These trees have become a symbol of Aruba and are featured in many advertising campaigns. The beach is also a significant nesting site for four species of sea turtles, with most nests found here between March and September. Red and white barriers often mark protected turtle nests along the shore. It also served as an anchorage location from the period of the Dutch West India Company onwards. In the 20th century, the Eagle Refinery played a significant role in Aruba's economy and during World War II, the island became a target of Nazi Germany.
