Getting There

• Walking

  Museo Historico Aruba is located in downtown Oranjestad, making it easily accessible on foot from many hotels, the cruise terminal, and shopping areas. From the main street, Caya Betico Croes, walk towards the coast and look for the prominent Willem III Tower. The museum is located in the Fort Zoutman complex.

• Public Transport

  Arubus, the local bus service, has frequent connections to Oranjestad from the hotel areas and other parts of the island. The central bus station is located next to the cruise terminal, a short walk from the museum. From the bus station, walk towards the coast; you will see the Fort Zoutman and Willem III Tower.

• Taxi

  Taxis are readily available throughout Oranjestad. A taxi from the high-rise hotel area to the museum will cost approximately $26. Taxis do not have meters, so confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. A surcharge of $3 applies on Sundays, holidays, and between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

• Parking

  Paid parking is available in designated areas around downtown Oranjestad. Look for white-lined spaces with registration numbers. Parking is enforced Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Payment can be made with local or U.S. coins, or by credit card at some machines. Hourly rates are approximately AWG 2 (US $1.14). Free parking may be available at the Renaissance hotel lots south of Lucy's Retired Surf Bar.
