Arikok National Park, established in 2000, protects 7,907 acres (32 sq km) of Aruba's northeastern region, showcasing the island's diverse natural and cultural heritage. The park's name, derived from the Arawak language, means 'mountain of stones,' reflecting its rugged terrain.
Within Arikok, you'll discover a landscape sculpted by wind and time. Explore caves adorned with ancient Arawak petroglyphs at Fontein Cave and Quadirikiri Cave. Hike trails that wind through diverse geological formations, including lava hills, quartz diorite, and limestone. The park is home to unique flora and fauna, including the Aruban rattlesnake, Aruban whiptail lizard, and Aruban burrowing owl.

Getting There
Taxi
From the hotel zone in Noord, a taxi to Arikok National Park takes approximately 40 minutes. Taxi fares are government-regulated; expect to pay around $35 - $40 USD each way. Confirm the fare with the driver before departing. Note that taxis can drop you off at either the San Fuego or Vader Piet entrance.
Rental Car
From Oranjestad, drive northeast towards Santa Cruz. Follow the main road (Route 7) towards the park. The San Fuego entrance, where the visitor center is located, is the easiest to reach. A 4x4 is recommended, especially if visiting the Natural Pool. Car rentals range from $40-$80 USD per day. The entrance fee to the park is $11 USD per adult.
