Discover more about Tres Trapi

Tres Trapi isn't your typical Aruban beach with powdery white sand; instead, it's a unique rocky cove that offers some of the best snorkeling opportunities on the island. Located on the northwest coast, just north of the high-rise hotel area, Tres Trapi (meaning 'three steps') is named for the three rustic steps carved into the rock that provide access to the water. While the small beach area has limited sand and can get crowded, especially during peak hours, the main draw is the underwater world. The crystal-clear waters are home to a vibrant array of marine life, including colorful fish, cushion sea stars, and, most famously, sea turtles. Snorkelers can easily swim out to the seagrass beds, about 100 yards from shore, where turtles frequently graze. Remember to observe these gentle creatures from a respectful distance, avoiding any attempts to touch or disturb them. Tres Trapi is a natural area with few amenities. There are no restrooms, showers, or restaurants, so it's best to come prepared with everything you need for a comfortable visit. Parking is available in a dirt lot across the street from the beach access point. Arrive early to secure a spot and avoid the crowds, especially if you're hoping to see turtles. Water shoes are recommended for navigating the rocky steps and shoreline.
