Established in 2013 by two schoolmates inspired by the vibrant street life and bar scenes of cities like New York and London, Green Beacon aimed to introduce a similar culture to Brisbane. They chose Teneriffe, a suburb experiencing a revival as a social and entertainment hub, as the perfect location for their brewery.
The brewery quickly became a community hub, known for its fresh, smooth ales crafted with passion and integrity. Green Beacon emphasizes flavor, balance, and consistency in its beers. The brewery has won multiple awards, including Champion Medium Australian Brewery at the Australian International Beer Awards for three consecutive years (2017-2019). In 2019, Green Beacon joined the Asahi Beverages family.
The industrial-chic microbrewery is a short walk from the Teneriffe City Cat stop. The space is divided, with one side dedicated to tables and chairs for guests and the other showcasing the silver brewing tanks. A long bar runs between the two spaces.
