From Roma Street Station, the parkland is a short walk away. As of August 5, 2024, all Translink public transport fares in Queensland are a flat rate of $0.50 for six months. This includes trains and buses.

The Celebration Lawn and Lakeside Lawn offer licensed areas for enjoying a picnic or BBQ with a glass of wine or beer between 10 am and 8 pm. Kids will love the Children's Garden, which features two playgrounds, a worm farm, and an edible garden. Free guided tours are available, providing insights into the park's flora and fauna. Roma Street Parkland hosts a year-round calendar of events, including live music performances, cultural celebrations, and family-friendly activities. The open-air amphitheater hosts film festivals and other events. The parkland is open 24 hours a day, though the Spectacle Garden and Rainforest Walk are open from dawn until dusk.
