Roma Street Parkland is conveniently located next to Roma Street train and bus station. From Brisbane City, take any train or bus that stops at Roma Street station. From Roma Street Station, the parkland is a short walk away. As of August 5, 2024, all Translink public transport fares in Queensland are a flat rate of $0.50 for six months. Roma Street Parkland is approximately a 15-minute walk from Brisbane City. From the Queen Street Mall, walk west along Roma Street. The parkland will be on your left, adjacent to the Roma Street Station. No costs are associated with walking.

Spanning 16 hectares, this inner-city oasis provides a refreshing escape with its diverse collection of themed gardens, picturesque picnic spots, and meandering pathways.Originally a meeting place for the Turrbal Aboriginal Nation, the area later became a railway terminal and goods yard. In 2001, it was redeveloped into the parkland that stands today, winning an award for urban design. The park's sloping hills are a result of its past as a railway yard.The parkland features a variety of attractions, including the Spectacle Garden, a vibrant display of subtropical plants and flowers, open from dawn till dusk. The Celebration Lawn and Lakeside Lawn offer licensed areas for enjoying a picnic or BBQ with a glass of wine or beer between 10 am and 8 pm. Kids will love the Children's Garden, which features two playgrounds, a worm farm, and an edible garden. Free guided tours are available, providing insights into the park's flora and fauna.Roma Street Parkland hosts a year-round calendar of events, including live music performances, cultural celebrations, and family-friendly activities. The open-air amphitheater hosts film festivals and other events. The parkland is open 24 hours a day, though the Spectacle Garden and Rainforest Walk are open from dawn until dusk.
