Getting There

• Public Transport - Bus

  If you're in the Brisbane CBD, head to the nearest bus stop, such as the King George Square station. Look for a bus that goes towards South Brisbane. You can catch buses 199, 200, or any bus that lists South Bank as a stop. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes. Get off at the 'Cultural Centre' bus stop. From there, walk towards the South Bank Parklands, and you'll see the State Library of Queensland directly ahead.

• Public Transport - Train

  If you're near a train station, take the train from any station in Brisbane towards the 'Cultural Centre' station on the South Brisbane line. Once you arrive at the Cultural Centre station, exit and follow the signs directing you to the South Bank Parklands. The State Library of Queensland will be a short 5-minute walk from the station, located within the Cultural Precinct.

• Walking

  If you are already in the South Bank area, you can easily walk to the State Library of Queensland. From the South Bank Parklands, head towards the Cultural Centre. The library is located on Stanley Place. Look for the large building with beautiful architecture, situated close to the Queensland Art Gallery and the Queensland Museum.

• Ferry

  For a scenic route, take a ferry from the Brisbane CBD. Board the CityCat or the CityFerry at the nearest terminal, like North Quay or Eagle Street Pier, and ride towards the South Bank terminal. The ferry ride takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Once you disembark at South Bank, follow the walking path towards the Cultural Precinct, where the State Library of Queensland is located.
