Getting There

Bus

To reach the National Museum of Australia, start by locating the nearest bus stop. If you're at the Canberra Centre, head to the bus interchange located on the corner of Bunda Street and East Row. From there, take the number 3, 4, or 5 bus in the direction of the Australian National University (ANU). After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the 'Parkes Way' stop. From there, walk towards Lawson Crescent. The museum is located about a 10-minute walk straight ahead; follow the signs to the National Museum.
Light Rail

If you prefer the light rail, make your way to the nearest light rail station, which is the Gungahlin line at the Canberra Centre. Take the light rail towards Gungahlin and get off at the 'City' station. Transfer to the bus number 3, 4, or 5 from the City bus interchange towards the Australian National University (ANU). After about 10 minutes, disembark at the 'Parkes Way' stop and walk approximately 10 minutes towards Lawson Crescent to reach the National Museum of Australia.
Walking

If you are within walking distance, the National Museum of Australia is located near the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. Start from the city center and walk towards the lake. Head west on Cooyong Street, then turn right onto London Circuit. Continue straight until you reach the lake, and then follow the path along the waterfront.
