Getting there

Walking

The Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre is located at 11 Terrigal Drive, within walking distance from most accommodations in Terrigal. From Crowne Plaza Terrigal, it's a 1.4km walk. Simply head east along Terrigal Esplanade, then turn left onto Terrigal Drive. The Centre is located in Rotary Park, next to Terrigal Lagoon.

Public Transport

To reach the Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre via public transport, take the Central Coast & Newcastle Line to Gosford or Tuggerah Station. From either station, transfer to a local bus service to Terrigal. Alight at a bus stop along Central Coast Highway near Matcham Road, which is a short walk to Terrigal Drive and the Centre. A single bus fare from Gosford to Terrigal is around $3 - $5.

Driving

If driving, navigate to 11 Terrigal Drive, Terrigal. The Centre has a disabled access carpark in front, and side street parking is usually available. Limited parking is also available at Terrigal Rotary Park and Lions Park on Willoughby Road. Parking fees may apply in some areas.

Overview

Discover the wonders of the ocean at the Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre, a hub of learning and excitement located in Terrigal, NSW. This volunteer-run centre is dedicated to teaching visitors about the marine environment through a variety of engaging displays and interactive activities.Explore exhibits featuring local fish, a huge hermit crab, tiny shrimp, and clownfish. Get hands-on with sea creatures in the open rockpool tank, examine sand and shells under a microscope, and unleash your creativity in the arts and crafts area. See the vintage diving suit and learn about shipwrecks along the coastline.The centre also offers programs such as movies, fish feeding, snorkelling adventures and rockpool walks. Don't miss the virtual reality dive, which enables anyone to explore the Ex HMAS Adelaide Artificial Reef.The Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre was established to promote the marine and coastal environment and its social and economic values for the Central Coast. In 2022, the centre completed a $1.2 million transformation to modernize the facilities and meet eco-tourism standards.
