The lookout is well-signposted along the way, but the following route is recommended: head towards the Highland Lakes Road (B51) and follow it until you reach the lookout area. It is approximately a 30-minute drive from most locations in the Central Highlands. Please note that there are no tolls on this route.

If you're using public transportation, you will first need to get to the nearest bus stop in the Central Highlands. Look for services that run on the Highland Lakes Road. The closest major town with public transport options is Bothwell. From Bothwell, take a bus towards Deloraine and ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Great Lakes Lookout. From there, you will need to walk approximately 4 kilometers to the lookout, as public transport does not directly reach the site. Ensure to check bus schedules in advance, as services may be limited.
