Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Avoca, which is approximately 30 minutes from Ballarat. Take the Pyrenees Highway (C207) towards Avoca. Once you reach Avoca, follow the signs to the B180 towards Maryborough. After about 15 kilometers, turn left onto the Lillicur Road. Continue on Lillicur Road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach Quartz Mountain, which will be on your left. There is a small parking area available near the entrance.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transport, catch a V/Line train from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to Maryborough. Once you arrive at Maryborough, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Lillicur. The distance from Maryborough to Quartz Mountain is about 20 kilometers. Expect taxi fares to range from $40 to $60 AUD, depending on the time of day and traffic conditions.

• Bicycle

  If you are feeling adventurous and would like to cycle, you can ride from Maryborough to Quartz Mountain. Start your journey by cycling from Maryborough along the B180 highway towards Avoca. After about 20 kilometers, turn left onto Lillicur Road and continue for another 10 kilometers. Be prepared for some hills and ensure you have a good map or GPS device, as road signage may be limited.
