To reach the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from Central West, start by getting onto the Great Western Highway (A32). Follow the A32 for approximately 100 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Melbourne. Once you approach the city, follow the signs for the City Link (M1) and merge onto it. Continue on City Link, then take the exit toward the M1, following signs for Burnley Street. Merge onto Burnley Street and continue straight until you reach the entrance of the MCG on Brunton Avenue. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that it may incur costs, typically around $10-$20 depending on the event.

Public Transport
To travel to the MCG using public transport from Central West, first take a train from your nearest station to either Lithgow or Bathurst. From these stations, catch a train to Sydney, then transfer to a train heading towards Melbourne. Once you arrive in Melbourne, you can take a train to Richmond Station, which is a short walk from the MCG. Alternatively, from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne, you can catch tram number 70 or 75 towards Wattle Park or Vermont South, which will drop you off at the MCG. Make sure to purchase a Myki card for travel, which costs around $6 for the card itself, plus the cost of fares, which vary depending on your journey.
