Car
From Cairns, take the Bruce Highway (A1) heading south. After approximately 150 km, take the exit toward the Kennedy Highway (A10) to Atherton. Continue on the Kennedy Highway for about 50 km until you reach the town of Atherton. In Atherton, turn onto the Gillies Highway and follow it for approximately 30 km until you reach the town of Yungaburra. From Yungaburra, take the road to Malanda, and then follow the signs to the Palmerston Highway (B1) toward Millaa Millaa. Continue for about 40 km until you see signs for Queen Mary Falls. Turn onto the Queen Mary Falls Road and follow it for about 10 km until you reach the falls. Note: Be mindful of road conditions and wildlife along the way.

Start your journey from Cairns by taking a Greyhound bus to Atherton. The bus ride will take approximately 3 hours. Once in Atherton, you can arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to take you to Queen Mary Falls, which is about 50 km away. Alternatively, check if there are any local tour operators that offer trips to the falls from Atherton, as this might be a more convenient option. Be sure to check the bus schedules and book your tickets in advance.
