Car
If you're traveling by car from any point on Fraser Island, head towards the ferry terminal at Kingfisher Bay. Take the ferry across to River Heads, which operates regularly. The ferry ride typically costs around AUD 80 for a standard vehicle and AUD 15 per passenger. After disembarking, drive south on the Bruce Highway (A1) towards Urangan. Continue for about 20 minutes until you reach Buccaneer Drive. Turn right onto Buccaneer Drive, and The Big Whale will be on your left at Shop 1, 1 Buccaneer Dr, Urangan QLD 4655.
Public Transport
From your location in Fraser Island, you will first need to take a ferry to River Heads. Check the ferry schedule and purchase your tickets, which can cost around AUD 15 per person. Once you arrive at River Heads, you can catch a local bus service, such as the Wide Bay Transit, which operates from River Heads to Hervey Bay. Make sure to get off at the closest stop to Urangan, then walk or take a short taxi ride to The Big Whale at Shop 1, 1 Buccaneer Dr, Urangan QLD 4655.
