    If you're driving from Melbourne, take the M1 freeway towards Gippsland. Continue on the M1 for approximately 1.5 hours until you reach the exit for Wonthaggi (B460). Follow signs for Wonthaggi and merge onto the Bass Highway (A440). Continue on Bass Highway until you reach Wonthaggi. Once in Wonthaggi, turn onto Garden Street. The State Coal Mine will be on your left. There is parking available on-site.
