Garroorigang Historic Home

Garroorigang Historic Home, located just outside Goulburn, New South Wales, offers a unique journey into Australia's colonial past. Built in 1857, the property initially served as the Mulwaree Inn, a stop for travelers on their way to the goldfields. In 1867, it transitioned into a private residence and, for a period, housed a boarding school for young gentlemen. For over 150 years, Garroorigang has been the cherished home of the Hume family, collateral descendants of the explorer Hamilton Hume. Today, family members personally conduct guided tours of the home, sharing stories and insights into the lives of those who lived within its walls. The house itself is a treasure trove of Australian history, filled with original colonial and Victorian furnishings and family memorabilia. Visitors can view relics from the convict and bushranging eras, as well as a collection of Victorian kitchenware.
