Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards Halls Gap, which is the main gateway to the Grampians National Park. From Halls Gap, take Grampians Road (C222) and drive towards Zumsteins. Continue on Grampians Road until you reach the intersection with Unnamed Road. Turn onto Unnamed Road, and follow the signs leading to Reed Lookout. There is a designated parking area near the lookout. Please note that there may be a parking fee of around AUD 10 per vehicle for the national park.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Melbourne to Halls Gap. The bus service operates several times a day. Once you arrive at Halls Gap, you can either rent a bicycle or take a taxi to reach Reed Lookout. If you choose to bike, head onto Grampians Road (C222) and follow the same route as described for car travel. Be aware that it is approximately a 30-minute bike ride from Halls Gap to Reed Lookout. If you opt for a taxi, it should take around 15 minutes to reach the lookout from Halls Gap.
Walking/Hiking
For the adventurous, you can hike to Reed Lookout from Halls Gap. Starting from the Halls Gap Visitor Centre, take the Grampians Peaks Trail leading towards Reed Lookout. The hike is about 5.5 kilometers one way and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Ensure you have plenty of water and wear appropriate hiking gear, as the trail can be steep in places. Once you reach the lookout, you will be rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree views of the Grampians.
