Turret Falls: A Grampians Gem

Turret Falls, nestled within the Wonderland Range of Grampians National Park, presents a rewarding experience for nature enthusiasts. The falls are best visited after rainfall when the twin cascades are at their most impressive, plunging over terraced rocks into the gorge below. The 2.4km return walk to Turret Falls begins at the Wonderland Carpark and is considered an easy to moderate hike, taking approximately one hour. The trail features a well-formed dirt track with some steps and uphill sections. Along the way, hikers are treated to stunning views of the surrounding sandstone slopes and the river gorge. Be mindful of the unfenced cliff edges and supervise children closely. At the top of the falls, the creek flows through a series of rock pools before cascading into the gorge. A track leads to the base of the falls, offering different perspectives and the opportunity for some careful scrambling to reach the water's edge. The area is also known for its wildflower displays in late winter and spring.
