Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Halls Gap, a popular base in the Grampians. Head south on Grampians Road (B200) for about 15 minutes until you reach the junction with the Western Highway (A8). Turn left onto the Western Highway and continue for approximately 10 kilometers. Take the exit toward Stawell, then follow the signs for Scenic Road. After about 5 kilometers on Scenic Road, you'll see the entrance to Big Hill Lookout on your left. There is free parking available at the lookout.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Halls Gap to Stawell. The bus service may not run frequently, so check the schedule ahead of time. Once you arrive in Stawell, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service to reach Big Hill Lookout, as it is approximately 6 kilometers away from the bus station. Expect to pay around AUD 15-20 for a taxi ride, depending on the service and time of day.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, consider cycling from Halls Gap to Big Hill Lookout. The ride is approximately 20 kilometers and follows scenic routes through the park. Make sure to wear a helmet and carry plenty of water. The route is mostly downhill towards Stawell, but be prepared for some uphill sections on your return. There are no dedicated bike paths, so be cautious of traffic.
