Troppos - Dive site at Norman Reef, Great Barrier Reef Travel Guide

Troppos, situated on Norman Reef, is a celebrated dive site approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Cairns, on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Norman Reef itself is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral formations, and diverse marine life, making it a prime destination for both snorkeling and scuba diving. Troppos distinguishes itself with a unique combination of shallow, sandy lagoons and dramatic reef walls, providing an ideal environment for divers of all skill levels.The shallow lagoon areas are perfect for beginner divers and snorkelers, featuring numerous nooks and crannies to explore. These areas teem with a variety of marine life, including colorful nudibranchs and pipefish. The deeper reef walls offer a more challenging and scenic dive for advanced divers, with a sloping sandy bottom that allows for exploration at greater depths.
