    From the Lorne Visitor Information Centre on Mountjoy Parade, head east towards the beach. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and walk directly onto the sand. The beach extends in both directions, with the main patrolled area located in front of the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club. This is a free and easy access point.

  • Public Transport

    From Geelong, take the V/Line bus service to Lorne. The bus will drop you off at the Lorne Hotel/Great Ocean Rd. From there, it's a short walk down to Lorne Beach. A one-way ticket from Geelong to Lorne costs approximately $8 - $12. Once in Lorne there is no public transport, only a taxi service, so it may be best to stay in the heart of Lorne for easy access to the beaches and cafes.

    From Melbourne, follow the M1 to Geelong and then take the Great Ocean Road (B100) to Lorne. As you enter Lorne, parking is available along Mountjoy Parade. Parking can be difficult, especially during peak season. Free day use parking is available, but overnight parking is not allowed. Parking inspectors are active. Some accessible parking spots are available near the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club. During events like the Pier to Pub, free parking with a shuttle service runs from the Lorne Country Club to Deans Marsh Road. Parking costs range from free to $25 depending on location and event.
