Car
If you're traveling by car, head to the Great Ocean Road from either Torquay or Apollo Bay. If coming from Torquay, take the Great Ocean Road (B100) heading towards Apollo Bay. Once you reach Separation Creek, keep an eye out for Mount Defiance Lookout, which is located directly on the Great Ocean Road. Look for the signs indicating the lookout. There is a small parking area available for visitors. Note that parking is free.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a V/Line bus from Melbourne to Apollo Bay. Once you arrive in Apollo Bay, you'll need to transfer to a local bus service that operates along the Great Ocean Road. Look for the bus that heads towards Lorne. Ask the driver to drop you off at Separation Creek; it is a short walk from there to Mount Defiance Lookout. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as services may be limited, especially on weekends.
Walking
If you're staying in Separation Creek, you can walk to Mount Defiance Lookout. From the Separation Creek village, head west along the Great Ocean Road. The lookout is approximately a 15-20 minute walk along the road. Please ensure to walk on the side of the road facing oncoming traffic for safety. The views along the way are scenic and provide great photo opportunities.
