Getting There

  • Driving

    From the Great Ocean Road, turn onto Point Addis Road. Follow Point Addis Road to the end, where you'll find the car park for the Point Addis Beach Lookout. Parking is free, but can be limited during peak season. From the car park, it's a short walk to the lookout point.

  • Walking

    If you're already exploring the Surf Coast Walk, you can access Point Addis Beach Lookout via the Koorie Cultural Walk. From the Point Addis Car Park walk back up the Point Addis Rd past a toilet block, for about 300m, to a path on your right with a timber viewing platform close to the road. Follow the path to the left of the viewing platform down to a track junction. Take the track to the left uphill at the beginning of the Koori Cultural Walk. Follow this path, bearing right at a T-junction, and continuing to the lookout at the end of a short side path overlooking Addiscott Beach.

Point Addis Beach Lookout provides visitors with breathtaking views of the dynamic coastline where the Southern Ocean meets Victoria's Surf Coast. The lookout is also a great vantage point for whale watching between May and September, as Southern Right Whales migrate through the area. The Ironbark Nature Trail, a 1km loop near Point Addis Road, showcases native plants and panoramic views. Point Addis had an extensive air force training range that stretched seaward to Wye River during World War Two. Today, it's a place to connect with nature, appreciate the cultural heritage, and enjoy the coastal scenery.
