Getting There

• Car

Follow Peterborough Road until you reach the T-intersection, then turn left onto the Great Ocean Road (B100) towards Peterborough. Continue straight for about 5 km, and then turn right onto Bay of Islands Track. Follow this road until you reach the parking area near The Great Ship. Note: There may be parking fees depending on the time of year and local regulations, so have some change or a credit card handy.

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from major towns along the Great Ocean Road to Peterborough. The V/Line bus service operates routes that connect locations such as Apollo Bay and Warrnambool to Peterborough. Once you arrive in Peterborough, you will need to walk or take a taxi to Bay of Islands Track, which is approximately 4 km away from the bus stop. Ensure you check the V/Line timetable for bus schedules, as services may not be frequent, especially on weekends. The fare varies depending on your starting point, typically around $10-$25 AUD.

• Walking

  If you are already in Peterborough, you can walk to The Great Ship from the town center. Head west on Peterborough Road until you reach the intersection with Bay of Islands Track. Turn left and follow the track for about 2 km. The walk may take approximately 30 minutes, and you will enjoy scenic views along the way. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as there are limited amenities along the route.
