Car
To reach Pokolbin Lookout by car from Cessnock, head northwest on Vincent Street towards the Hunter Valley Wine Country. Turn left onto Broke Road and continue for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach Pokolbin. Look for signs directing you to Pokolbin Mountains Road. The road turns to dirt passing Tinklers Winery. Parking is available on-site. Note that the drive up the mountain can be bumpy, and a 4WD is recommended but not always necessary.
Public Transport
Take a bus from Cessnock to Pokolbin. Hunter Valley Buses operate routes in the area. Check the schedule in advance. From the bus stop in Pokolbin, a taxi or rideshare to Pokolbin Lookout is approximately a 10-minute drive. Alternatively, it's about a 30-minute walk. Bus fare from Cessnock to Pokolbin is approximately $4 - $6. Taxi/rideshare from Pokolbin bus stop to the lookout will cost approximately $20 - $30.
