If you are driving from Wollongong or any other location in Illawarra, take the M1 motorway heading west. Follow the signs for the Hume Highway (M31) towards Sydney. After about 1.5 hours, take the exit toward Griffith on the Sturt Highway (A32). Continue on the Sturt Highway for approximately 90 kilometers until you reach Griffith. Once in Griffith, follow Scenic Drive to Hermit's Cave. Park in the designated parking area and proceed on foot to the cave.

To reach Hermit's Cave via public transport, take a train from Wollongong Station to Campbelltown Station. From Campbelltown, transfer to a train heading towards Griffith. The journey will take approximately 4 hours. Once you arrive at Griffith Station, you can take a local bus (check the Griffith bus timetable for routes) or a taxi to reach Scenic Drive. The cave is approximately a 10-minute drive from the station. After arriving at Scenic Drive, it's a short walk to Hermit's Cave.
