Getting There

Car
From Wollongong, take the M1 Princes Motorway northbound towards Sydney. After approximately 20 km, take the exit toward Waterfall. Follow the signs for the A6 (Princes Highway) and merge onto it. Continue for about 13 km, passing through the towns of Engadine and Heathcote. After Heathcote, turn left onto the B84 (Royal National Park Road) and follow it for around 9 km until you reach the entrance of Royal National Park. There may be a parking fee at the entrance, typically around AUD 12 per vehicle. Inside the park, follow the signs to Wattamolla Beach, which will take you another 5 km. The parking area is right next to the beach access.

Public Transportation
From Wollongong, take the train from Wollongong Station to Waterfall Station on the South Coast Line. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Waterfall Station, you will need to take a bus (e.g., route 991) towards the Royal National Park. The bus journey will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the Wattamolla Beach stop. Note that the bus services may not run frequently, so check the local timetable in advance. There may be a small fee for the bus, typically around AUD 4.50.
