Walking
From the Pelican Lagoon area, head towards the main walking trails that lead to Mt Thisby Lookout. Start at the Pelican Lagoon Visitor Information Centre and follow the walking path that is marked with signs leading to Mt Thisby. The path is well-maintained and offers scenic views along the way. As you approach, be prepared for a moderate incline. The lookout is well-signposted, and you will see the lookout point on your right as you near the summit.
Bicycle
If you have a bicycle, start your journey at the Pelican Lagoon Visitor Information Centre. From there, take the main road heading towards the lookout. Follow the designated cycling paths which will guide you through the stunning landscapes. The ride is approximately 4 kilometers; ensure you have a good map or GPS as some paths may not be clearly marked. Upon reaching the lookout area, there is a bike rack for securing your bicycle while you enjoy the views.
Public Transport
Currently, there is no direct public transport to Mt Thisby Lookout. However, you can take a local bus from Kingscote to Pelican Lagoon. Once you arrive at Pelican Lagoon, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach the base trail of Mt Thisby Lookout. Follow the signs towards the lookout, and be prepared for a moderate hike.
