Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from Kingscote, head east on the main road towards the town of Penneshaw. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for the B11 road. Follow the signs for the B11, which will lead you south towards Penneshaw. After about 5 kilometers, you will reach the town of Penneshaw. From there, take the ferry terminal road towards the ferry dock. Once you arrive at the ferry dock, you will need to catch a ferry to the mainland, as Red Banks is accessible only via the water.

    Alternatively, if you are near the Flinders Chase National Park, you can head towards the north coast. Walk towards the coastal path that leads to the north. Follow the coastline for about 10 kilometers until you reach the southern entrance to the Nepean Bay. Continue walking northeast along the coast until you reach Flea Castle Road, which will lead you directly to Red Banks.

    From Penneshaw, you can take a local bus service towards Kingscote. Check the local bus schedule for the exact times.
