From Millicent, head southwest on Canunda Road/Canunda Causeway, following signs for Canunda National Park. Continue onto Coola Road, following signs to Lake Bonney. Parking is available at designated areas near the lake. Note that road conditions can vary, and some areas may require a 4WD. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is free.

From the Coola Outstation Historical Walk carpark, follow the signs towards Lake Bonney. The trail passes through diverse landscapes, including tea-tree forests and wetlands, before reaching the lake's edge. The walk is relatively easy and takes approximately 2-3 hours.
