Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Mallee, head south on the main road (Mallee Highway) towards Ballarat. Once you reach the roundabout at the intersection with the Western Highway, take the second exit onto the Western Highway (A300). Continue on this road until you reach Ballarat. As you enter the city, follow the signs for Ballarat Central. Turn left onto Sturt Street, and you will find Sturt Street Gardens on your right. There is ample parking available along the street. Please note that parking may be subject to time limits.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Sturt Street Gardens using public transport, take a V/Line train from Mallee to Ballarat Station. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Ballarat Station, exit the station and walk towards the main street (Lydiard Street). Turn right and head south until you reach Sturt Street. Turn left onto Sturt Street, and you will find the gardens a short walk away. Be sure to check the V/Line schedule for train times and fares.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from your location in Mallee to Sturt Street Gardens. Taxis are available at various points in the town or can be booked via phone. The fare will depend on your starting point, but it typically ranges from $20 to $50 AUD. This is a convenient option if you are traveling with a group or have heavy luggage.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and the weather permits, you can bike to Sturt Street Gardens. From Mallee, follow the bike paths along the main roads towards Ballarat. There are designated bike lanes, and the ride is approximately 10 km. Once you reach Ballarat, you can park your bike at one of the bike racks near Sturt Street Gardens. Remember to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules for safety.
