Federation Square is easily accessible by tram, train, or bus. Numerous tram routes stop directly outside Fed Square on Swanston Street. Flinders Street Station provides direct access via train. Many bus routes also stop nearby. Melbourne operates a Free Tram Zone in the CBD, which includes Federation Square. Travel on trams within this zone is free; however, if your journey starts or finishes outside the zone, a valid Myki card is required. A 2-hour fare is $5.30, and a daily fare is $10.60.
