Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from Flinders Street Station, exit the station and head towards the Yarra River. Walk along the riverbank towards the west until you reach the pedestrian bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto St Kilda Road. Walk north until you reach the intersection with Russell Street. Turn left onto Russell Street, and continue walking until you reach the corner of Russell Street and Victoria Street, where the Eight Hour Day Monument is located in the 8 Hour Reserve.

• Tram

  From Federation Square, walk to the nearest tram stop on Flinders Street. Take Tram 48 or Tram 75 in the direction of North Balwyn or Vermont South, respectively. Get off at the stop for the corner of Russell Street and Victoria Street. The Eight Hour Day Monument is located at the intersection in the 8 Hour Reserve, just a short walk away.

• Walking from Queen Victoria Market

  Starting at Queen Victoria Market, head southeast towards Elizabeth Street. Turn right onto Elizabeth Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Victoria Street. Turn left onto Victoria Street and walk straight until you reach the corner of Russell Street, where the Eight Hour Day Monument is located in the 8 Hour Reserve.

• Train

  If you are near Southern Cross Station, board the train on the Craigieburn, Upfield, or Sunbury lines and get off at the next stop, which is Melbourne Central. From Melbourne Central, exit the station and head towards La Trobe Street. Walk west on La Trobe Street until you reach Russell Street. Turn left on Russell Street and continue until you reach the corner of Victoria Street where the Eight Hour Day Monument is located in the 8 Hour Reserve.
