Public Transport - Tram
If you're starting from Flinders Street Station, exit the station and look for the tram stop. Take tram number 86 or 96 towards Waterfront City Docklands. Get off at the stop on Bourke Street at Russell Street. From there, walk south on Russell Street for about 5 minutes, and you will find Old Melbourne Gaol at 377 Russell Street.
Public Transport - Train
From Southern Cross Station, take the train on the Sandringham or Cranbourne line towards Richmond. Get off at Flinders Street Station. Once you arrive, follow the same directions as above by taking tram number 86 or 96 towards Waterfront City Docklands and getting off at Bourke Street at Russell Street.

If you're in the central business district (CBD), you can walk to Old Melbourne Gaol. Head east on Swanston Street until you reach Lonsdale Street. Turn left onto Lonsdale Street and walk north until you reach Russell Street. Turn right onto Russell Street, and after about a 10-minute walk, you will find Old Melbourne Gaol on your left at 377 Russell Street.
Public Transport - Bus
If you're near Queen Victoria Market, take the bus number 59 towards Airport West. Get off at the stop on Elizabeth Street at Russell Street. Walk south on Russell Street for about 3 minutes, and you will reach Old Melbourne Gaol at 377 Russell Street.
