If you're starting from the Melbourne CBD, you can catch the tram from any of the central tram stops. The number 86 tram will take you towards the eastern suburbs. Board the tram and ride it until you reach the stop at 'Nicholson St/Elgin St'. From the tram stop, walk east along Elgin Street until you reach Nicholson Street. Turn right onto Nicholson Street and continue walking until you see the Royal Exhibition Building on your left. The Hochgurtel Fountain is located in the grounds of the Royal Exhibition Building, which is at 9 Nicholson St, Carlton VIC 3053.
Bus
If you are near the Melbourne CBD, take the bus number 250 or 251 from 'Melbourne Central Station'. These buses head towards the suburbs and will take you to the stop 'Royal Exhibition Building'. Once you get off, the Hochgurtel Fountain is located within the Royal Exhibition Building grounds. Just walk towards the building from the bus stop, and you will find the fountain nearby.
