Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from any location in Mornington Peninsula. Depending on your starting point, make your way to the main road, which is the Mornington Peninsula Freeway (M11). If you're in Mornington, head south to the freeway and take the exit towards Boneo Road (C777). Follow Boneo Road until it merges into Cape Schanck Road. Continue on Cape Schanck Road, and you will arrive at the Cape Schanck Lighthouse located at 420 Cape Schanck Rd, Cape Schanck VIC 3939. There is parking available near the lighthouse, and it is advisable to check if any fees apply for parking.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cape Schanck Lighthouse using public transport, start by taking a train from Melbourne to Frankston Station. From Frankston, you can catch bus number 788 towards Rosebud. Get off the bus at the Cape Schanck Lighthouse stop. The bus journey may take around 60-90 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to check the local bus schedule for the latest timings. Once you arrive at the lighthouse stop, it is a short walk to the entrance of the lighthouse area. Note that there may be a small entry fee for the lighthouse grounds.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, consider cycling to Cape Schanck Lighthouse. You can rent a bike in Mornington and follow the scenic paths. Start by heading towards the Mornington Peninsula Freeway (M11), then use the bike paths that run parallel to the freeway towards Boneo Road. Follow Boneo Road until it merges into Cape Schanck Road. The ride is approximately 20km and will take around 1-1.5 hours depending on your cycling speed. Be aware of traffic and ensure to wear a helmet. Parking for bicycles is available near the lighthouse.
