If you are driving from the Mornington Peninsula, start your journey by heading towards the Nepean Highway (M1). Take the M1 towards Melbourne and follow the signs for Frankston. Continue on the M1 for about 30 km until you reach the exit for the Western Port Highway (A780) towards Hastings. Follow the A780 for approximately 20 km until you reach the roundabout at the intersection with the Bass Highway (A420). Take the first exit onto Bass Highway (A420), and follow it for about 30 km. You will see signs for Phillip Island. Turn right onto Phillip Island Road and continue until you reach the island.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, start at the Frankston train station. Take the train on the Frankston Line towards the city. Alight at the Cranbourne station. From Cranbourne, board the V/Line bus that goes to Phillip Island. The bus service runs regularly, but be sure to check the timetable in advance. The bus will take you directly to Phillip Island, with stops at various points on the island. The cost for the train ride is approximately AUD 5-7, and the bus ticket costs around AUD 20-25.

Combination of Car and Ferry
If you're looking for a scenic route, you can drive to Sorrento and take the ferry to Queenscliff. From Mornington Peninsula, head to Sorrento by following the local roads to Point Nepean Road. The ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Queenscliff, drive towards Geelong and take the M1 to the Bass Highway (A420) towards Phillip Island. This route offers stunning views of the coastline but may take longer than the direct drive.
