Getting There

Car
From the main visitor center in Mount Field National Park, head north on Lake Fenton Road for approximately 3 kilometers. Turn left onto the Gordon River Road and continue for about 12 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Florentine Road. Turn right onto Florentine Road and drive for approximately 5 kilometers. The Tyenna Big Tree Reserve will be on your left. There is no entry fee for the reserve.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Hobart to the town of Maydena. From the Maydena bus stop, it is approximately a 5-kilometer walk to the Tyenna Big Tree Reserve. Head north on the main road (Hollow Tree Road), then turn onto Florentine Road. Follow Florentine Road until you reach the reserve. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited.
