Car
If you're driving from the center of Hobart, take the Southern Outlet (A6) towards Kingston. Follow the signs towards Mount Wellington. Once you reach the Fern Tree area, turn onto Bruny Island Link Road. Continue until you reach the Wellington Park entrance. You’ll find parking available at the Fern Tree Park, which is a great starting point for your hike to Mount Connection. Note: There may be a parking fee, so have some coins ready just in case.
Public Transportation
To reach Mount Connection using public transport, take the Hobart Metro bus service (Route 446) from the city center towards Fern Tree. Get off at the Fern Tree stop, which is close to the entrance of Wellington Park. From there, follow the well-marked trails leading to Mount Connection. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited, especially on weekends.
Walking
From the Fern Tree Park area, you can access several walking trails that lead towards Mount Connection. Follow the 'Mount Connection Track' signs, which will guide you through the scenic trails of Wellington Park. The walk is moderately challenging and can take about 1-2 hours depending on your fitness level. Be sure to wear appropriate walking shoes and bring water.
