If you are traveling by car, start from the Mount Wellington Summit Road. Follow the signs leading to the summit. Once on the summit road, continue until you reach the South West Viewing Platform. The platform is located approximately 2 km from the main summit area. There is limited parking available near the viewing platform, so plan to arrive early during peak tourist seasons. Note that there is no entry fee for the viewing platform.
Public Transportation
To reach the South West Viewing Platform via public transportation, take a bus from Hobart to the Mount Wellington area. Services may vary, so check the local bus schedule ahead of time. Once you arrive at the closest bus stop on Mount Wellington, you will need to walk approximately 2 km uphill to the South West Viewing Platform. Ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for steep terrain.
Walking
