Car
If you are traveling by car from Townsville, take the Flinders Highway (A1) heading west towards Charters Towers. After approximately 120 km, you will reach Charters Towers. Once in Charters Towers, follow the signs to Towers Hill. Turn onto Towers Hill Road, and follow it to the parking area at the top. The drive takes about 1.5 hours. Parking is available, and there is no cost for parking.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a Greyhound or a local bus service from Townsville to Charters Towers. The bus journey takes approximately 2.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Charters Towers bus terminal, you can either walk to Towers Hill (approximately 2 km) or take a local taxi, which should cost around AUD 10-15. The taxi will take you directly to the Towers Hill lookout.
Walking
If you are staying in Charters Towers and prefer walking to Towers Hill, start from the Charters Towers post office. Head north along Gill Street, then turn onto Towers Hill Road. The walk is approximately 2 km and should take about 25-30 minutes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the path can be steep in places.
