Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from the Outback to Surfers Paradise Beach, start by heading east on the National Highway 1 (also known as the Pacific Highway). This highway runs along the eastern coast of Australia. Depending on your starting point in the Outback, it may take several hours to reach the Gold Coast region. Once you approach the Gold Coast, follow the signs to Surfers Paradise via the Gold Coast Highway. As you near Surfers Paradise, you will see exit signs leading you directly to the beach area. Parking is available near the beach but may incur a fee, so be prepared to pay for parking.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from your location in the Outback to the nearest major city that connects to the Gold Coast, such as Brisbane. From Brisbane, you can catch a direct bus to Surfers Paradise. The bus service is operated by TransLink, and you can check their website for schedules and ticket prices. Buses to Surfers Paradise typically leave from Brisbane's Central Station. The journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Make sure to buy a ticket before boarding the bus. Once you arrive at Surfers Paradise, it’s a short walk to the beach.

• Train

  If you prefer traveling by train, you can take a train from your nearest railway station in the Outback to Brisbane. Once in Brisbane, transfer to a train heading towards the Gold Coast line and disembark at the Nerang station. From Nerang, take a connecting bus (TransLink) to Surfers Paradise. Check the train schedules beforehand, as the frequency may vary. The entire journey can take several hours, so plan accordingly. Ensure to have your ticket ready, which can be purchased at the station or online.
