After approximately 30 kilometers, turn left onto the Horrocks Pass Road. Continue for about 32 kilometers until you reach Wilmington. Once in Wilmington, follow the signs for Mount Remarkable National Park. The Alligator Gorge entrance is located about 8 kilometers from Wilmington. There is no entry fee for the park, but ensure your vehicle has enough fuel for the trip.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a bus from Adelaide to Port Augusta, which operates daily. Once you arrive in Port Augusta, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service to reach Wilmington, as public transport options may be limited. The taxi ride from Port Augusta to Wilmington will take around 30 minutes and will cost approximately AUD 70-90. After reaching Wilmington, follow the same directions as driving to get to Alligator Gorge, as mentioned above.

It is about an 8-kilometer walk and should take you about 2 hours. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes, carry water, and be prepared for the weather conditions, as it can be quite hot in the Outback.
