Car
If you are driving from Alice Springs, start by heading west on Larapinta Drive. Continue for approximately 10 kilometers. You will pass the Alice Springs Desert Park on your right. Keep going until you reach the T-junction at the end of Larapinta Drive and make a left turn onto the Stuart Highway (National Route 87). After about 4 kilometers, turn right onto Larapinta Trail. Follow the signs for Tjoritja West MacDonnell National Park. The eastern end of the Larapinta Trail is located a few kilometers down this road. Look for parking areas at designated trailheads.
Public Transportation
To reach the eastern end of the Larapinta Trail by public transportation, take a bus from Alice Springs that heads towards the West MacDonnell Ranges. Buses like the 'Explorer' service will drop you at the nearest stop. Once you get off the bus, you may need to walk a short distance (around 1-2 kilometers) to the trailhead. Follow signs for the Larapinta Trail; they will guide you to the entrance. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance to ensure you have a return trip organized.
