Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head to the main highway in Riverland, the Sturt Highway (National Route A20). Depending on your starting point in Riverland, you can connect to the Sturt Highway easily. For example, if you are in Berri, take the Old Sturt Highway heading east towards Katarapko. Continue driving for about 30 km until you reach the junction with the Berri-Katarapko Road. Turn left onto Berri-Katarapko Road and continue for about 6 km. At the end of this road, you will find the entrance to Murray River National Park. Make sure to check your fuel before heading out, as there may not be many services along the way.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transport, you can take a bus from major towns in Riverland to Berri. The bus services may vary, so it's best to check the current schedules on the local transport website. Once you arrive in Berri, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the park entrance, which is approximately 30 km away. Expect to pay around AUD 50-70 for the taxi ride. Always confirm taxi availability, especially if you're visiting during weekends or holidays.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, you can bike to Murray River National Park from various points in Riverland. Starting from Berri, take the Old Sturt Highway east, then transition to Berri-Katarapko Road. The total distance is about 36 km, so ensure you are prepared for a long ride. Bring sufficient water and snacks, as there are limited stops along the way. The park has bike paths once you arrive, allowing you to explore the area further.
