Car
If you are driving, Gladstone Gaol is located at Ward St, Gladstone SA 5473. From Adelaide, take the Northern Expressway (M2) heading north. Continue on the M2 for about 1.5 hours until you reach the Port Wakefield Road (A1). Take the exit towards Port Wakefield and continue on A1 for approximately 30 minutes. Turn left onto the B85 road towards Gladstone. Follow the signs to Gladstone, and once you reach the town, turn onto Ward St. The Gaol will be on your right. There are no entry fees for the area surrounding the Gaol, but check ahead for any guided tour costs or special events.
Public Transport
To reach Gladstone Gaol via public transport, you can take a train from Adelaide to Port Pirie. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes about 2.5 hours. Once you arrive at Port Pirie, transfer to a bus that goes to Gladstone. The bus may not run frequently, so check the local schedule on the South Australian public transport website. The bus journey takes around 30 minutes. When you arrive in Gladstone, you can walk to Gladstone Gaol, which is located on Ward St. Ensure you check for any bus fare costs prior to your journey.
